Charlie's Chatter

Hi,

I have been very busy overseeing the work on the cat pens, which I found very interesting and a bit time-consuming.

The weather was very dry and warm so John the joiner managed to work almost non stop. It seems very quiet now they and their radio have gone I enjoyed the music but not the football! A few times a week I have been baby sitting a tiny thing called ‘Peanut’ - a very cheeky kitten who is about 1/3 the size she should be - doesn't stop her being cheeky to me and I have to put her in her place - way down the pecking order from me!

I am in very good health and due to the very dry weather the lawn is like a tarmac road for me. I can really get steam up with my hot wheels - they are nearly worn out and John is worried he may not be able to repair them again, they are 7 years old and I have worn out 2 sets of wheels. Did you know I am now allowed to stay at home whilst John and Christine go to see their baby grandson. My good friends Susan Cottam and Christine Meakin look after me which is fun 'cos they aren't as bossy with me!

Hope to see you at the party in July and maybe little Peanut will be with me.

Bye for now

Hi,

Well, Spring has sprung and I am so pleased that I can finally play out in my hotwheels without my woolly coat. The thickness of my coat is just enough to stop me getting out of the wheels at will so I can't go where I please so easily! Christine says I've put on weight and that's why it is difficult…she can talk!

As you know, I went to Wigan late last year and saw the Consultant Vet, Duncan Midgley. I don't like to discuss personal, private things but enough to say I was having trouble with my waterworks (and worse). Well, after nine weeks on some tablets I am now fantastically well!

Basil, my young ginger friend is getting braver and joins me in the garden for a few minutes at a time. Soon we will be having barbeques, which I love. I manage to get my share of the goodies as I can be as quick as the others when I really try.

There have been a few workmen calling and they have all made a fuss of me and I have enjoyed their company. They are here to assess the weather damage done to the pens in the winter and soon work will start. That will be fun to watch from under my sun umbrella.

I am to meet the Ashton family's grandson soon, whatever that is. I will let you know as they have threatened to take a photo.

Speak soon

Hi

Last Sunday I visited the Knights Rest Home in st annes where my life long friend Phyllis Hobson(97) now lives. I called to see her as she has been a bit under the weather recently and I thought it might cheer her up and it did! I met alot of the other ladies and gentlemen there and let them stroke me.

The care staff were great but in the end I beat a hasty retreat - I had to get back to my socialising with the residents! !

Christine who accompanied me sort of cramped my style she wouldnt let me run at full speed as she( wrongly) worried I might knock into one of the residents legs etc. Still she has promise that on my next visit she will not be so overprotective and leave me to it.

I enjoyed my visit but it was too short. Will let you know when i next get to pop in.

Hi My names charlie and i am 6½ years old. this is my 1st entry hope you enjoy it.

one of my best friends got run over yesterday - Sybil Faulty i will miss her as she was very good at licking me clean. I always suspected it was because she liked the taste of the food on my face- I cant manage to clean that at all.

John and Christine who look after us all are very upset and cross with Sybil as she like the others here are not allowed out in the dark a d last night she didnt come in. we dont know why she went as far as teh lytham St Annes Way Road .. but she did!!!!!

So we are all upset even Dorian the tortoise is acting oddly but Christine sats that's because he is getting ready to go to sleep.H eis an odd creature not soft and furry like the rest off and when he comes under my sun parosol he is a bit uncomfortable to lean on.

watch this space i will be in touch.. promise.
